With over 25 year’s experience as a qualified piano teacher, Loc-Mai enjoys teaching children and adults to a high standard, allowing them to express themselves through music whilst experiencing the joy of sharing and performing music. In treating each student as an individual, she teaches them bearing in mind their age, ability, character and inclinations in order to fulfil their musical requirements.
Based in Wisbech Cambridgeshire Loc-Mai gives lessons at her own residence. Additionally she also teaches in Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Hertfordshire, and is willing to give tuition in your own home. Students from various regional, cultural or indeed any demographic group, are welcome, moreover Loc-Mai looks on this as an opportunity to diversify those with whom she can share her passion of music.
Loc-Mai ensures that pupils wishing to enter exams are fully prepared, maintaining a complete success rate in both theory and piano exams. She also loves preparing her school students for school concerts and other musical events.
Loc-Mai currently runs very successful introductory piano courses for adult beginners (daytime and evening) at the Octavia Hill Birthplace House, Wisbech. These provide a great opportunity for adults with little or no musical experience to dip their toes in the water for six weekly lessons in small groups. By the end of the course, they will have had a taste of learning to play the piano, and will be able to play simple pieces musically with both hands.
On a personal point, Loc-Mai is passionate about music and about passing on this joy to others, which enables her to enthuse and encourage her pupils; these hallmarks of her teaching ensure the enjoyment of their flourishing skills. With a warm and positive personality, she enjoys establishing good longstanding relationships, appreciating with pride her pupils’ musical development from beginner, through to music college or university.
"Experience the joy of learning..."
On a regular basis Loc-Mai organises interactive musical events for student participation regardless of age or experience. These include concerts and garden parties, to offer them the opportunity to extend their skills in performing and sharing their talent with others. Additionally, it provides a wonderful occasion for them to collaborate and interact with each other both musically and socially.
